Serie A Transfers – Latest Additions in Italy

The Serie A continues on 17. August as Inter Milan steps on the field to face Genoa. The team defending their title will have a tough time this season as many contenders have done as best they can to strengthen their squads.

Unfortunately, there are no blockbuster Italian Serie A transfers like there were before in the heyday of Italian football. But there are a few interesting ones that we care to report and talk about. Here are our transfers in Serie A that are the most interesting to us.

Álvaro Morata (AC Milan)

AC Milan have replaced one veteran forward with another. Olivier Giroud departs San Siro, and Alvaro Morata, the Spanish captain who lifted the Euro 2024 trophy with La Furia Roja, is in his place this year. It is one of the most interesting Italy Serie A transfers this year.

Morata has already played in Italy as he represented Juventus on two separate occasions. He knows the league and at his age, knows exactly what Milan needs. But don’t expect to see too many goals from him. His presence is what matters the most. If he can lift Milan a step forward they might be able to bring the fight to Inter this season.

Serie A Transfers

Artem Dovbyk (AS Roma)

The Daniele De Rossi-led Roma are very serious this year. Getting back in contention of winning the Serie A required adding new players, and it seems that Artem Dovbyk is the perfect addition to their forward line. Dovbyk was the best scorer in La Liga last season as both he and Girona completed their legendary season.

He will help Roma in the best way possible – scoring a ton of goals! The offensively-minded Roma under De Rossi is the best place for Dovbyk to be. Since he can score goals from various positions, it will be interesting to see how he pairs with Paulo Dybala in the attack. The fierce Argentinian can provide him with so many assists and countless scoring opportunities. Dovbyk only needs to make sure to make them.

Douglas Luiz (Juventus)

Juventus is finally under new management. The new manager, Thiago Motta, was lighting the Serie A by storm last season. The idea is for him to revitalise Juve and bring them back to the glory days. But to that, he needs to reshape the midfield. In comes Douglas Luiz.

The Brazilian midfielder was a standout performer in Aston Villa last season. He had the best scoring season of his career, which is why he was one of the most expensive Serie A transfers this year. He won’t be required to score goals at Juve. Holding the midfield and keeping things together is what he is most good at. If Vecchia Signora win the title this season, it will surely be because of Douglas Luiz.
